Lady Mosquito

PuroCorazon (Pure Heart) was created in Lima, Peru in 2005, by Jean-Edouard Tromme (Belgian-Colombian) and Carolina Restrepo (Colombian). It was born with the idea of combining the tradition of artesinal skills with modern materials and the worlds of modern and traditional design. It expresses experiences in special places with wonderful people. It is a work filled with feelings and internal processes that result in a unique combination of thousands of materials. The combination of colors and textures is essential; contrasts and evolution of existing tendencies, the mutual encounter of tradition and popular art of a country built upon the artifice of experience.

This idea was developed after meeting a group of female artisans that were part of a development project for domestic violence sponsored by the Belgian Cooperation Institute in Ayacucho, in the Peruvian Andes. 
With the passage of time, their designs have been incorporated into bags and accessories for women with a youthful and exciting flair. Currently the process of production and creation involves women and men from different regions of Peru, while conserving the artesinal processes that bring an individual touch and personal care that come with exploring new techniques and discovering new places.



Our wish is to bring our love of color, of form and traditional art. Our inspiration is the rich artisan tradition of Peru, even though the world and our travels in it are an endless fountain of stimulation and new ideas. We are amazed and enthralled by traditional techniques and design.
 
For PuroCorazon one of the most important values is the will of people and not their knowledge or education. We believe that with willpower, one can accomplish the impossible and we believe that actions motivated from the passion of one’s heart are attainable. For this reason, we seek to promote people based on their abilities and provide them with training and opportunities for study that can help them reach their goals. 
We believe in creativity as a constant exercise and something that is endless in supply. It is the essential foundation of life and colors our personal and professional decisions and processes.


Each garment imparts the desire to convert oneself into an instrument of the language of happiness. Pure Heart imagines, creates a language of love, breathes life into its work. The key is the enjoyment of each stage in the making of the purses, jackets and accessories. These symbols of happiness have passed through the hands of women and men who weave their spirit and freedom into them.

The collection of Pure Heart also is inhabited by a theatrical spirit, a playful extravagance that avoids classification and vividly depicts the freedom of thought and creativity that creates it. While simple, it is elegant, expressive, passionate and transmit a special spirit that breathes life into everything around it.
